Temple University – Fox School of Business
Established in 1918, the Richard J. Fox School of Business and Management name was conferred in 1999. The School has a long history of innovation in education, introducing new curriculum and programs in advance of current business trends. Accreditation ensures that the school continually meets high standards in admissions policy, curricula, faculty, library and computer facilities, and educational innovation and technology.
The Fox School of Business and Temple University were first accredited to provide undergraduate education by AACSB International – Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – in 1934. In 1942, the school added an MBA program. By 1970, when the MBA became a vital tool for career development, the program was already well-known in the region. The continued expansion and strengthening of the program led to its accreditation in 1973 by AACSB. The PhD program was established and accredited in 1976; the school now oﬀers two PhD programs – in Business Administration and Statistics. The most recent reaffirmation of accreditation of the School was in 2015.
With over 52,000 graduates, two-thirds of whom live and work in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, the Fox School of Business is the primary source of management talent in the region. This programme is available only in part-time mode and will take 10 months to complete. Students will be required to attend 4 full-day lessons a month over 2 consecutive weekends.

This course presents a strategic analysis of effective HR function design, organization, and management. The class addresses key responsibilities of HR executives charged with managing the human side of the enterprise. It uses cases, exercises, and current events to explore strategies by which HR professionals can add value to the business and act as strategic partners to line management. The course is designed for both HRM majors and non-majors.
This course focuses on interpersonal communication competencies of managers and understanding the nature and scope of strategic organizational communication—with a focus on both internal corporate information management (IM) as well as external IM–via the internet and through media outlets.
This course looks at the ethical and social responsibility aspects of managerial decision making. Management’s responsibilities to its various stakeholders including consumers, employees, investors/owners, and society are stressed. The course presents an overview in-depth analysis of the various ethics and social responsibility issues and challenges in organizations and provides strategies to deal with these issues and challenges.
Considers ways to develop and sustain productivity in individuals and work groups. Examines effective strategies for group formation, goal setting, delegation, and handling group dynamics. Special challenges such as dealing with work force diversity.
This course focuses on solving human resource problems and capitalizing on HR opportunities to contribute to organizational success. It utilizes state of the art HR practice and technology. Students complete project assignments using a human resource information system and company database designed for this course. It is designed for HRA concentrators and those in general management with the responsibility for managing human resources.
The Special Topics in HRM course is designed to provide greater depth for key HR concepts introduced in previous courses. We vary the topic each year based on current trends and student interest.
This course approaches employee training and development as a means to enhance organizational effectiveness and innovation. It examines ways to transform a company’s most valuable asset, its “human capital,” and build effective organizational cultures that will sustain high performance during periods of environmental turbulence.
HR strategy plays a crucial role in ensuring an organization proactively adapts to and manages changes in its external environment. This course focuses on developing competencies associated with key HR practices that involve adapting and aligning with changes in the competitive landscape, workplace, labour market, and regulatory environment. Speciﬁc areas of investigation focus on employment law compliance, labour-management relations, managing HR in the global context and managing the outsourcing process.
This is an analysis of the strategic design of organizational reward systems, and how they contribute to organizational success. The emphasis will be on design of reward systems to complement current trends in organizational design and strategy. The role of both financial as well as non-financial reward will be addressed.
This course examines the process and outcomes of using power, influence and negotiation in interpersonal relations, in groups and organizations, and cross-culturally in international business. It also explores negotiation styles for effective leadership, resolving conflicts, and achieving personal and organizational goals. Ethical and practical issues related to power and influence, are discussed.
Intakes for the MSHRM programme are available once a year. All applications should be submitted to ERCI no later than 1 month before the commencement date.
The MSHRM program is fully accredited by The Association To Advance Collegiate (AACSB).
Applicants should hold a four-year bachelors degree (or its equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years work experience.
Admission to the Masters of Science in Human Resource Management (MSHRM) program is a competitive process in which each candidate’s experience, aptitude, potential and managerial skills are assessed. Enrollment is limited and participants are chosen based on their ability to bring unique skills and experiences to this cohort learning environment.

Your application must include the items listed below. All required materials should be received by ERCi on or before the designated application deadline. The admission committee will not review incomplete applications.
A formal application will be provided by ERCi.
Official transcripts from all colleges and universities in which you attended. The transcripts should include all course names and grades. Only transcripts that bear the seal, mark, or signature of an authorized official of the university where you earned your degree or have taken courses are acceptable. Once sealed, the envelopes must not be opened. All transcripts should be sent to the ERCi in Singapore. If your transcripts are not in English, you must submit both the official transcripts written in its original language and an English translation made by a professional translator. The translation must be in the same envelope and must be signed by the translator.
Professional references are preferred, though academic references are also acceptable. The person should be able to evaluate or assess the applicant’s on-the-job performance or academic abilities. Their input will be very valuable for the admissions process; therefore we recommend you carefully select individuals who know you well enough. Narrative letters to the admissions committee or Temple University reference forms are accepted. The forms can be requested from us. The letters of recommendation must be sent directly by your referee via email to or by post to the ERCi office in Singapore.
