The purpose of offering this programme is to develop and groom Banking & Finance students in strategic thinking and analytical abilities which are essential qualities of contemporary investments, finance managers and executives. Students will acquire cutting-edge financial and investment knowledge important for keeping up with change in the business environment.
The Advanced Diploma in Business Management (Japanese Enterprise and Entrepreneurship) also introduces students to the Japanese business context. This includes understanding Japanese business culture and etiquette, management approaches, legal practices, consumer behaviour, and entrepreneurial development. These elements provide students with additional insights into Japan’s business environment while reinforcing the core entrepreneurship curriculum.
The average lecturer-student ratio is 1 lecturer to 35 students.
Students undertaking the Advanced Diploma in Business Management (Banking and Finance) programme will be expected to complete 12 modules of academic study. This programme is available on both full and part time basis, and will take 16 months and 24 months respectively to complete. Full-time students will attend classes 5 days a week on weekdays for 3 hours each day, while part-time students will attend classes 2 days a week on weekdays and/or on weekends for 3 hours each day. Teaching is delivered through a combination of face-to-face classroom sessions and live online classes, providing students with an engaging and flexible learning experience.

This module provides students with a clear understanding of Japanese business culture and professional etiquette, focusing on workplace norms, communication styles, and the role of appearance in shaping credibility. It equips students with the cultural awareness and practical skills needed to navigate professional interactions in Japanese corporate contexts, while fostering sensitivity to cross‑cultural challenges.
The module aims to equip students with essential knowledge of Japan’s business law, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements, while exploring distinctive management practices such as consensus building, continuous improvement, and leadership approaches. It also develops strategies for effective cross‑cultural collaboration, preparing students to operate confidently within Japan’s legal and Organisational environment.
This module provides students with an in‑depth understanding of Japanese consumer behaviour, examining cultural, social, and psychological influences on buying decisions. It equips students with the ability to analyse consumer motivations, attitudes, and decision processes, and to apply these insights in shaping marketing strategies and communication approaches within Japan’s unique business and cultural context.
This course focuses on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and new venture creation in Japan, with particular emphasis on opportunity recognition and innovation. It helps students learn how entrepreneurs in Japan identify, evaluate, and differentiate profitable and sustainable opportunities from simple business ideas, while navigating the country’s unique cultural and regulatory environment.
Intakes for the Advanced Diploma in Business Management (Banking and Finance) programmes are available 4 times a year. All applications should be submitted to ERCI no later than 1 month before the commencement date.
The assessment consists of various components such as written reports, class tests, oral presentations, quizzes, and interviews.
